I explore the liminal space that exists between the traditions of painting, drawing and sculpture. My work is in dialogue with the historical constraints and dogmatic modes of representation that constitute these disciplines. The prefabricated format is deconstructed and reimagined through shaped canvases. Paintings are approached with little preconception as the process of abstraction lends itself to the improvisational development of imagined narratives. These narratives and the development of symbolic systems create psychological, momentary markers. Meaning is sublimated at the intersection of desire and conscious thought.
